We invite you to reconnect with nature in our spacious & stylish bell tents for luxury glamping in the heart of Mapperton Wildlands, Dorset’s most spectacular rewilding project.
Located in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with views over the tumbling hills to the sea beyond, Mapperton Camps provides a haven of calm and an opportunity to reconnect with the wonders of our natural world.
Our two luxury bell tents are based at Coltleigh, a 200 acre rewilded area called Mapperton Wildlands which has recently been handed back to nature. A herd of stunning White Park cattle – an ancient English breed – now roam the local pasture, while a profusion of birds, butterflies and wildflowers adorn the landscape.
You can walk along the paths at Coltleigh and explore its extraordinary biodiversity, or join one of our Wildlands Tours. Or you can amble down the hill to Mapperton House & Gardens and visit the Coach House café. The Jurassic Coast is only fifteen minutes away, and there are numerous outstanding pubs and restaurants within just a few minutes drive.
Our 6 metre glamping tents are spacious and contain many home comforts, including a hand-built king size bed made with locally sourced wood, Egyptian cotton linen, a wood burner for chillier evenings, a cool box, board games, carefully selected books, as well as an outside fire pit for camp-side cooking and extra warmth. You’ll be keen to switch off, but if you need to stay in touch there is excellent 4G mobile signal, and each tent also has its own compost lavatory and hot shower unit.
Amazing glamping experience, extremely peaceful and quiet with incredible views down towards the ocean. Sophie is super helpful and provided everything we needed for our stay, we can’t wait to go back!
We had the most wonderful, relaxing stay at Mapperton Camps. From the moment my feet hit the floor after hopping out of the car, I felt that tranquil, peaceful environment take hold. The weight of day to day life was automatically lifted from my shoulders – it was a divine experience. Every single detail had been thought of from playing cards, to books, to a torch, to a pair of binoculars. I thoroughly recommend staying, it was true bliss!
Included when you stay with us:
Spent an anniversary weekend and what a truly perfect location it was. Every single detail was carefully thought about and the tent was incredible. The surrounding countryside was a pleasure to walk around and the house and grounds are impeccably well kept and the staff were a pleasure. Mapperton Camps is country luxury, if you have any interest in being in the country, without the technological amenities of life then this is the break for you.
